Sizing + Care

Ring Sizing Tips

Rings should fit comfortably around your finger, but also be snug enough so they do not easily slide over your knuckles or off your finger when you use your hands or tip them upside down.

When sizing, remember heat can make your fingers swell and cold can make them slightly smaller, so take this in to consideration when deciding your size.

The most accurate way to measure your ring size is by visiting a local jeweller. If you are in London, you can reach out to studio@kris-walsh.com and we can help. But we understand visiting a jeweller might not always possible, so these are a few ways to help determine your ring size:

  • Order a Free Ring Sizer to measure your finger

  • Use the chart below to convert your ring size to UK Sizing, which is done by letters

Note: Some rings with functional features - like those in the Hand Holding Series - are designed to fit specific fingers. Specific finger recommendations are noted in the Sizing section of the product description and are made to provide the most comfortable fit for those interested in exploring the ring’s functional features (like holding hand with another person), in addition to enjoying its other qualities. Of course, you are welcome to wear and enjoy these rings on any finger you choose, but just note that the functional features might not be possible if you do.

Jewellery Care

All the jewellery in Kristina’s Shop is made with precious metals and caring for your jewellery will help it look its best.

All metal and metal platings will naturally wear over time and if you accumulate scratches, dents, or nicks on your jewellery this is not considered defective, but a sign of normal wear and living life with the jewellery you love.

  • When you are not wearing your jewellery, store it in a cool, dry place away from sunlight, like in a small bag or jewellery box.

  • Precious metals and metal platings can be damaged by chemicals and water. It is recommended you wait to put your jewellery on until after applying perfumes, lotions, skin care products, and body creams, and to remove your jewellery to shower, swim in pools, exercise, wash up, or clean around the house.

  • Sterling Silver naturally oxidizes and tarnishes over time when exposed to air. If your piece develops a yellow-brown hue usually all it needs is a polish with a bit of silver polish on a soft, dry cloth to restore it to its original luster.

  • Gold plating is a semi-permanent finish and will slowly wear off over time and with wear. If you need to clean your gold plated jewelry, use a dry, soft cloth to very gently buff the surface. Using excessive pressure will wear the plating faster. Do not use silver polishing products on gold plated jewellery as it will damage the gold.

  • Usually a gentle buff with a clean, soft cloth will be enough to clean dirt or dust from your jewellery, but if needed warm soapy water and a soft toothbrush can be used. Rise well and gently and completely dry with a clean, soft cloth. Be extra gentle with gold plated pieces as excess rubbing will wear the plating.

  • If your jewellery has lost its shine or experiences some wear and tear and you think you need some extra help, email studio@kris-walsh.com with an image of your piece and we will be happy to help.
